The
Slidell Cultural Center, in disrepair since katrina, is
the city's own premier art gallery focusing its exhibits
in fine arts, history and science. The Center features local
and regional artists and showcases national and international
traveling collections.
The
Center displays 6 - 7 exhibitions annually and serves as
a second classroom to St. Tammany Parish elementary and
high school teachers who continually bring their classes
to view and discuss the latest exhibit. In addition to school
tours, the Slidell Cultural Center also hosts group tours
for community groups, boy and girl scouts, and church groups
for each exhibit.
During
exhibits, the gallery is open:
Tuesday-Friday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Admission is free.
