| The
Slidell Police Department's Communications Division
is a 24 / 7 operation that is responsible for all
incoming calls from our multiple administrative and
911 lines. Calls for service are then added to the
Spillman CAD system and dispatched to officers via
a multi-channel two-way radio system. All channel
in our Motorola radio consoles are monitored constantly.
All radio transmissions from our law enforcement officers
are logged into CAD.
Our
primary goal is to keep track of the whereabouts of
the officers and relay pertinent information for their
safety. Additional duties include maintaining entries
into the NCIC computer as well as checking wanted,
missing, stolen, etc... files. We must be able to
rapidly and accurately verify and relay the infromation
to our personnel and outside agencies.
