The Slidell Police Department Corrections Division is responsible for the operation of the Slidell City Jail. The primary functions of the Corrections Division staff include the booking of arrestees, prisoner transports, and the housing of detained or sentenced offenders. Public safety, as well as the care, custody, and control of all persons incarcerated within the Slidell City jail are of paramount concern.
Jail Visitation Hours
Jail visitation for pre-trial and non-trustee detainees occurs on Monday between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Jail visitation for sentenced trusty offenders occurs on Sunday between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Booking Information
Inquiries regarding bail amounts, booking information and the statute with which a person has been booked may be directed to the Corrections Division booking at (985) 646-4220. Explanations involving charges or details surrounding the event for which a person was arrested will not be discussed by the Corrections Division staff. Telephone Calls/Letters and Packages
In general, detained persons have access to telephones within their cells for outgoing calls only. Corrections Officers will not relay telephone messages to any detainee. The jail receives written correspondence for both pre-trial detainees and sentenced offenders. Packages will only be accepted for sentenced offenders having obtained trusty status. All incoming correspondence and packages are searched for contraband before being given to a detainee or sentenced offender. All correspondence or packages should be addressed as follows:
