City prepares for sleet and snow
02/11/2010 1:15pm
With parts of the city currently experiencing a wintry mix of sleet and rain, plus more sleet and possible snow anticipated later this evening and into the morning, Slidell Mayor Ben Morris is reminding citizens to be extra cautious when driving throughout the city.
“Slidell crews are currently sanding bridges and overpasses to minimize the impact, but in weather like this, even the small bridges crossing drainage canals can ice over and cause slippery driving conditions,” says Morris. “I recommend avoiding getting on the roads if at all possible.”
City officials will continue to keep citizens updated as weather conditions change. |
