“You don’t have to travel far for fun and excitement. Look no further than the City of Slidell for some of the best events around,” said Mayor Ben Morris. “3,500 people attended our last Bayou Jam concert with the Topcats. Our citizens and many out-of-town guests are attending our many cultural events in increasing numbers. Laissez les bons temps rouler!”
The Burnside Flashers started out in 2005 when six co-workers from East Jefferson Hospital decided to play for a one-time charity event for the American Cancer Society. After playing to a standing-room only crowd and rave reviews, they received requests to play more gigs and have continued to perform classic hits from the past four decades. They have also been featured on the radio numerous times on The Bayou 95.7’s “Under the Covers” segment, which features local artists in the New Orleans area.
