In conjunction with the Rotary Clubs’ fifteenth annual Slidell Heritage Fest, Heritage Park, the public boat launch and the section of Bayou Lane that runs through the park, will close on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 12:01 a.m. and will reopen on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 12:01am.
Public parking is available in the lot located just outside the park on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Bayou Lane. Parking will not be available in Heritage Park, the kid’s playground or the boat launch.
This year’s Fourth of July celebration is produced by the Rotary Club of Slidell and the Rotary Club of Slidell Northshore. The family-friendly event will be held Wednesday, July 4, from 3:30 to 11 p.m. in Heritage Park. It includes live music, arts, crafts, children’s activities, a variety of great food and a fantastic fireworks display at 9 p.m. Admission is $10 per person and free for children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit a number of local non-profit organizations.
