Yesterday’s storms brought 3.86 inches of rain in an hour to Slidell and in some areas of the city, there was as much as 4.8 inches. This morning, the National Weather Service predicted a 90% chance of rain for today that could bring an additional 2 to 4 inches to Slidell.

Slidell Mayor Freddy Drennan has proposed an ordinance to the City Council reducing the millage rate used to calculate the City’s property tax from 26.79 mills to 26.56 mills.

In the second demolition in a week, Slidell Mayor Freddy Drennan joined Councilman Sam Caruso and contractors from Peake Construction on Wednesday, June 27, to start the demolition of the Tiki Recreation Association located at 1438 Fremaux Avenue in Slidell.
