Ronnie Kole and Charmaine Neville headline Arts Evening festivities
Food, fun, music and art are only a few of the things you can experience at the City of Slidell’s sixteenth annual Arts Evening, which will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 4 to 10:30 p.m. in Olde Towne Slidell. This free event is one of the biggest cultural festivals on the north shore. Over 100 artists will display their works at 41 different locations throughout Olde Towne Slidell from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and the evening culminates with a performance by the Ronnie Kole Trio from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Arts Evening 2009 Best of Show Winners Announced
The City of Slidell’s Department of Cultural & Public Affairs recently held the Arts Evening Best of Show competition. The Commission awarded cash prizes and ribbons for best of show, second and third place. Milo Stephens’ “Decoupage Fleur de Lis” was named Best of Show. Adam Sambola’s “RedBean’s French Quarter” was awarded second place ribbon and William Byron Gray’s “The Painter” was awarded third place. The Commission also acknowledged two honorable mentions, Milo Stephens’ “Angelic Form” and Michael Remy’s “When Evening Shadows Fall…”

Call for Artists, Arts Evening 2009
The City of Slidell’s Department of Cultural & Public Affairs is preparing for Arts Evening 2009. This award-winning event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Olde Towne Slidell from 4 to 8:30 p.m., followed by the free Arts Evening finale concert featuring world-renowned pianist Ronnie Kole from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Arts Evening is a national award-winning event and is one of the largest cultural festivals on the north shore. It’s a celebration of visual and performing arts with live entertainment, food and antique and boutique shopping. This year’s festivities feature the works of over 100 artists and live entertainment from 19 different bands at various locations throughout Olde Towne Slidell from 4 to 9 p.m. The evening culminates with a grand dinner dance finale in the Slidell Municipal Auditorium from 8 to 10 p.m., featuring Soul Vaxxination. Admission to all events is free. Rain date is set for Sunday, Nov. 2.
