Programs
Education
Education of the community, especially youth, is
a very important aspect of the Animal Assistance
League. The goal is to foster compassion and the
proper care and treatment of all animals. The organization
also seeks to educate the community on the importance
of spaying and neutering their cats and dogs. Pet
overpopulation is a high priority concern.
Fund
raising
The Animal Assistance League pays for
the care and upkeep of animals housed at the Slidell
Animal Shelter. Fund raising events, such as the
Pet Fest and Craft Show are conducted annually.
Other special events are planned and conducted to
raise funds. Donations are an integral and necessary
component for raising funds. They are a significant
source for providing proper care for the animals.
